Summary:   

Andersen’s Specialty Business focuses on indoor outdoor living with large patio doors made in four plants across the US and Canada. The Product Manager is responsible for translating Andersen’s strategy into a product strategy by developing a vision, strategic and annual operating plans for the business and working closely with cross functional partners to deliver those plans. The Product Manager leads the business day-to-day by producing sound plans, spotting problems and opportunities early, and responding urgently to them. In addition, the Product Manager owns and drives both the product line financial results and satisfying customer requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

Portfolio Management
  • Lead strategic and annual operating planning processes.
  • Lead the development of the portfolio strategy inclusive of positioning, features/options, pricing, warranty, and services with a goal of achieving increased levels of customer satisfaction and enterprise financial value.
  • Develop and own the product roadmap.
  • Participate in field forums, shows, customer visits and other meetings to communicate portfolio and marketing programs as needed.
  • Develop tools and processes to support product information needs of internal delivery partners, field sales, channel partners and trade customers.
  • Develop the tools and resources needed to provide an industry leading customer experience across all distribution channels
Product Ownership 
  • Accountable for product performance against targeted volume and profit goals.
  • Lead development of comprehensive business cases for assigned product lines within the framework of overall enterprise plans and strategies. 
  • Support demand elements of Sales and Operations Planning process with forecasts and analysis for assigned product lines, ensuring inclusion of all relevant demand drivers; market conditions, trends, channel and trade factors, and promotions.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of competitors and provide insights on key competitive differentiators and messages
  • Responsible for sound budgeting and expense management.

Cross Functional Leadership
  • Provide leadership as the Marketing representative on cross functional teams delivering new products or product enhancements though the stage gate approval process, specifically responsible for delivering the customer requirements, volume, pricing, and launch plans.
  • Serve as delivery partner to segment marketing managers, supporting go-to-market strategies, product launches, communications and positioning associated with targeted customer segments.
  • Capable of effectively communicating to Senior Executives, Industry Events, Major Customers, Marketing Peers, etc – seasoned professional at presenting ideas and persuading to achieve desired results

Qualifications
  • Strong product marketing / marketing work experience (inclusive of product management & product analysis) and is considered a demonstrated marketing performer. Experience levels could range from 7 to 15 years of relevant progressive work experience depending upon specific work experience
  • 4 year degree, with MBA strongly preferred
  • Strong technical & analytical skills (either from formal education or through comparable work experiences) · Strong strategic planning skills
  • Must come into this level with demonstrated leadership in a cross-functional environment – capable of leading development initiatives.
  • Report to a Marketing Director – may be asked to manage both direct and indirect
  • Capable of effectively communicating to Senior Executives, Industry Events, Major Customers, Marketing Peers, etc – seasoned professional at presenting ideas and persuading to achieve desired results

In 2023, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
