SUMMARY 

The leader of the Engineering Shared Services (ESS) team is a newly formed role that will be the overall leader for two major teams within Andersen’s Centralized RDI group and an important member of that group’s leadership team.

 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Provides leadership of the overall Engineering Shared Services group which includes the Testing Services and Engineering Change Services (ECS) teams, totaling over 50 employees and their leaders
  • Acts as a leader of leaders who helps ensure not only that the teams meet their objectives, but also that the team members have an environment where they can thrive and succeed
  • Connects and collaborates with the teams’ leaders and various customers on a frequent basis to ensure they understand and meets our customers’ needs, expectations, and priorities
  • Works with the leaders on their team to ensure appropriate resourcing, prioritization, and alignment of the teams’ work streams
  • Develops business justifications for, gains support for, and drives implementation of efforts necessary to ensure the teams have the right capabilities and capacity to meet both short- and long-term needs
  • Communicates the teams’ priorities and delivery schedules clearly and promptly, especially if they change based on new inputs or feedback
  • Provides a work-class customer experience by driving both continuous improvement and disruptive innovation that enhances how the team delivers their services
  • Provides regular status reports to senior business leaders, cross functional partners, and other customers 

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, or science-related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience leading a large value-stream or technical team
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and customer experience skills
  • Ability to facilitate cross-functional sessions to gain clarity of and alignment on needs, expectations, and priorities
  • Aptitude for and track record of continuous improvement 
 
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • 10+ years leading others, including leading other leaders
  • Experience leading teams that provide support for R&D areas, in particular testing services and/or product change groups in R&D setting
  • Experience driving continuous improvement of a service organization
  • Strong understanding of various development and improvement methodologies (e.g., Design Thinking, DMAIC, Lean)
  • Strong knowledge of R&D, manufacturing, business, IT, and quality systems
  • Experience working with internal customers and partners
SALARY INFORMATION:  
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. In addition to your pay, Andersen Corporation currently offers benefits such as comprehensive health benefits, 401k contribution, paid time off, 8 paid standard holidays, plus 2 floating holidays, a robust employee Wellbeing program, as well as profit sharing (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).

In 2023, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
