Andersen Corporation is a privately held, nationally recognized, and market leading manufacturer of premium quality windows and doors. Renewal by Andersen is the wholly owned Window and Door replacement division of the Andersen Corporation.
Position Overview:
This engineering position will provide quality support by working with members of new product development and commercialization teams, and suppliers through the commercialization process. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual who can ensure that product components and finished product meet expectations, within the project timeline.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide quality engineering support for new product and manufacturing lines including:
- Advancing quality systems and driving built-in error proofing solutions (Quality 4.0) in equipment and process design
- Leading and participating in Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA) and dimensional engineering strategies
- Working with IT, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Engineering to develop / update operator interfaces for manufacturing and quality inspections
- Participating in equipment design reviews, gauge design and procurement processes, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
- Supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) of manufacturing assets
- Developing and executing validation plans throughout the Product / Process Development lifecycle for equipment asset and full manufacturing line qualification
- Analyzing fabrication and assembly equipment capability in Minitab or similar software (Cpk, Ppk)
- Working with component suppliers on Part Submission Warrant (PSW) requests, First Article, and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submittals for new product development projects
- Leading Control Plan and Work Instruction documentation development and implementation
- Implementing Statistical Process Control (SPC) within the production line
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Engineering or Technology
- 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing, continuous process environment required
- Intermediate to advanced blueprint (Computer Aided Design (CAD)) reading skills
- Knowledge of PFMEA, SPC, process capability and lean manufacturing principles
- Working knowledge of measurement tools and systems
Work Requirements:
- Must be willing to travel up to 25% when required (primarily domestic, occasional international)
- Requires training and onboarding for 1 year in Cottage Grove, MN area during the first year, followed by relocation to the Locust Grove, GA area.
