SUMMARY

The Facilities Director is responsible for the overall strategic leadership and management of Andersen's multi-site physical plant operations and facility maintenance. This includes both administrative and manufacturing office space capacity and work environment planning. The Facilities Director is accountable for capital budgeting, operating expense budgeting, and facilities technical services capabilities & project management. Additionally, the Facilities Director owns the technical review of RFPs and bid proposals, emergency/crisis planning and management, and the overall development, administration and direction of the Corporate Facilities Function. The Facilities Director provides overall (indirect) leadership to the remote site facilities managers across the Enterprise portfolio of facilities location, and ensures the cross-functional alignment of strategic planning, management systems, as well as the development and implementation of building, office, and maintenance standards.
 
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

-Develops long-term and short-term strategic facilities plans for 9 million sqft of space across 18 primary facilities sites.  Establishes goals, objectives and measures to reach goals. Establishes facilities maintenance standards, including life cycle planning and the capital master plan for infrastructure maintenance. Establishes office space standards to Enterprise support strategic objectives.  Ensures Enterprise building facility portfolio is driving continuous meaningful reductions in environmental footprint and establishing leadership practices in sustainability.

-Works cross-functionally with Corporate Sustainability leadership, corporate function leaders, remote site facilities managers, and executive leadership to develop budgets and project plans, and monitor annual facilities operational and capital budget and spending plan. Provides leadership in development of policies, standards, and procedures to implement these plans

-Responsible for planning and developing of capital project budgets, including the oversight of Corporate Technical Facilities projects. Provides leadership and process for Investigation & Analysis of key projects, and oversees project execution of key projects to ensure cross-functional and business alignment. Monitors and addresses changes in federal, state and local laws and codes that affect facilities management, including environmental, health, and safety issues.

-Find and establish relationships with vendors as well as negotiate contracts.

-Promotes and develops disciplined management systems for the continuous review of facilities performance/ reliability / and continuous improvement, including sustainability and environmental impact reductions

-Assures facilities resources are effectively allocated to minimize equipment downtime and to respond to emergency/crisis situations. Develops and administers effective crisis management planning

-Develops office space strategy, work environment effectiveness & performance, and office space capacity planning. Develops policies and standards to ensure consistent implementation of office space expansions and upgrades. Leads, develops and manages resources including Corporate Technical Services Team, Indirect leadership of Site Facilities Managers across 15 manufacturing plants and multiple Corporate Administration building and Corporate Support buildings, Groundskeeping and Building Maintenance Teams at Corporate Administrative buildings and Corporate Support buildings.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS 

-Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Facilities, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering field, from an accredited college or university
 
-15 years progressive experience in a technical field, including 5 to 10 years of direct facilities management experience

-Strong Project Management experience working with a minimum combined $5 Million capital and expense budgets

-Knowledge of OSHA standards, product quality, cost control (minimizing downtime / waste).

-Ability to travel up to10% of time

-Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams.

-Facilities Management Professional certification preferred

 
SALARY INFORMATION:

In 2023, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
